Sermon & Scripture for Sunday 07.11.10
In our text for Sunday, The Parable of the Good Samaritan - Luke 10:25-37
, a lawyer asks Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?" Rather than answer the question directly Jesus tells an incredible story. Twenty centuries later we are called to wrestle with this same question. Be prepared that the answer - as it was for the lawyer - may challenge us and move us beyond our comfort zone. The reality is "We Don't Get to Pick Our Neighbors" or limit our love. We don't get to pass up or pass by those who have fallen by the side of the road of life. Go and show mercy! It is easy to say but oh, so hard to live out. May we boldly live into the law and invitation to love our neighbors.

Drawing on God Continues July 13
The drawings and paintings on the bulletin board outside Lib’s office are the work of the first day of Drawing on God at St Mark’s. Seven people braved the heat of the outside and the cool of the inside to reflect on Psalm 77, listening to God and responding in visual art forms and writing. Holy listening is the practice of lectio divina, a contemplative practice of silence and meditation. Drawing on God as a contemplative practice invites artistic response to God’s word, attentiveness to the world around expressed in color, texture, and word. Drawing on God brings refreshment of the soul and a peace that is counter cultural. You are invited to come for a morning of
Drawing on God, Tuesday, July 13 from 9:30 – noon
. You do not have to be an artist. It helps to be a seeker. Contact Lib if you have questions: libcam@bellsouth.net.
